This newsletter is my Valentine to all who love fabric. Those who can’t keep their fingers from touching the bride’s gown at the wedding. Those who return from vacation with yards of new batik or swatches of antique damask. Those with a stash. Those who, when our children are grown, spend our days sewing for charity. Those who sew for a living, make art from cloth and thread, spin our own yarn….
The Silk Mill is a place to read about fabric, fellow fabric lovers, fabric art, and fabric embellishment.
I began embroidering before kindergarten and sewing 4-H projects before middle school. As a writer and photographer, I especially enjoy exploring the world of fabric and am sharing my discoveries here with you.
The next post will introduce a bit more about me and about the role of embroidery in my family’s life. I plan to post free public posts the first and third week each month.
Thank you, Diane!
